Day 2 |
After breakfast, drive to Mamallapuram,
ancient port of the Pallavas and also the
UNESCO World Heritage Site (62 kms 1 hr).
Enroute visit Dakshinachitra, is a true living
museum exposing Dravidian culture.
Visit Seashore Temples, Arjuna Penance and
other sculptures of Mamallapuram.

Breakfast at hotel.
Depart to Pondicherry (100 kms 2 hrs).
Enroute visit salt making areas in Marakannam
[Except during monsoon]. Evening have a walk
along the promenade of Pondicherry Beach &

Take a heritage walk for 2-3 hours early

Early morning drive to Madurai ancient capital
of the Pandiyas (81 kms 1 ½ hrs).

Visit Meenakshi Amman temple and Thirumalainayakarmahal.

Breakfast at Hotel.
Depart to Periyar/Thekkady (140 kms 3 hrs).
Besides the tiger and elephant, the rare lion-tailed macaque, sambar deer, the elusive leopard,
